2019—OKCAMC Awards Scholarships to Three Outstanding Aggies

19 Sep

Each year, the Oklahoma City A&M Club (OKCAMC) awards scholarships to OKC-area students who plan to attend, or are currently enrolled at, Texas A&M University during the subsequent fall semester.  For 2019, we are pleased to announce that the club has awarded scholarships to three outstanding Aggies.

Ann Elizabeth Tebow, class of 2020, grew up in the Piedmont and El Reno communities.  She is currently a junior majoring in Biomedical Sciences with an International Certificate in Cultural Competency and Communication; she is also minoring in Spanish.  Given her academic performance to date, she is on pace to achieve the highest of graduation honors, Summa Cum Laude (> 3.9 GPA).   Outside of the classroom, Ann competes on the University’s NCAA Division I Women’s Equestrian Team, which won a national championship in 2017.  Post-graduation, she intends to return to the OKC area and attend medical school at the University of Oklahoma.

Emma Banks, class of 2022, is an incoming sophomore, business honors student from Duncan, Oklahoma.  Given her academic performance to date, she is on pace to achieve the highest of graduation honors, Summa Cum Laude (> 3.9 GPA).   Since moving to College Station, Emma has held various leadership roles, including Marketing Chair for the Lechner-McFadden Community Council and Executive Director for the Special Events Committee for MSC Hospitality.  Furthermore, she is a President’s Endowed Scholarship Recipient, which is awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement and demonstrated student leadership.

Hannah Flores, class of 2023, is an incoming freshman who graduated from Edmond Memorial high school and was ranked in the top 10% of her class with an outstanding GPA.  During high school, she participated in the marching band (color guard) for four years, was an officer of the Archery Club, and played the flute for the concert band.  Additionally, Hannah achieved numerous accolades, including National AP Scholar with Distinction, National Hispanic Scholar, and was a gold medalist for the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Outdoor Archery Nationals in 2017 and a silver medalist in 2018.

As an organization, we are very proud to support the next generation of great Aggie leaders.  On behalf of OKCAMC, we’d like to thank all of our members who donated generously with their resources to make this possible.

Thanks and Gig’em, David & Leslie LaLonde, c/o ‘02
