OKC Muster 2020 Postponed—***COVID-19 Update***

22 Mar

OKC AMC Members,

As precautionary measures are taken to curb the spread of COVID-19, adjustments are being made to events across our country. With that in mind, The Association of Former Students strongly encourages alumni clubs, like ours, to follow the guidance from medical experts and government officials and not gather for Muster on April 21st.  Respectively, OKC AMC is postponing Muster 2020 to a later date, after the pandemic crisis has abated.  For those who have already purchased tickets, you will receive a full reimbursement shortly.

Although our event is postponed, please be assured that the name of every Aggie whose death was reported since the last Muster, including those on our local roll, will be called and answered with “Here” on April 21st.  We have conferred with the University’s Muster committee that manages the large on-campus ceremony. The committee has made the difficult decision to not hold this year’s campus Muster ceremony in person.  Rather, a “virtual Muster” will be conducted to ensure Aggies can experience this time-honored tradition safely.  More details will be released as they are finalized in the weeks ahead.

Although the times that we’re living in may require that some of our traditions to take on a different look, the spirit of those traditions remain unbroken. As we’ve seen time and again during times of crisis, the Aggie Spirit will prevail.

Gig’em,

OKC AMC Leadership
